1 Step 1. Traffic Law and Substance Abuse Education Course
Every new driver in Florida must complete the Traffic Law and Substance Abuse Education (TLSAE) course, also known as the Drug and Alcohol course. It is a 4-hour state-approved course that covers Florida traffic laws, the effects of alcohol and drugs on driving, and safe driving practices. PalmWay offers this course fully online, so you can finish at your own pace from any device.
2 Step 2. Class E Permit Exam
After you complete the TLSAE course, you are eligible to take the Class E Knowledge Exam. This 50-question test covers traffic signs, road rules, and Florida driving laws. We offer the official exam online through PalmWay, with study materials and unlimited retakes until you pass.
3 Step 3. Behind-the-Wheel Driving Lessons
Once you have your learner's permit, the real practice begins. Our certified instructors teach you defensive driving, parking, lane changes, highway merging, and everything you need to drive confidently in South Florida traffic. 4 Step 4. The Road Test
