What You Need to Start Driving in Florida
π Driver's License From Your Home Country
If you already hold a valid driver's license from your country of origin, you're in good shape. Bring it with you, along with your passport, proof of Florida residency, and your immigration documents. We'll review everything before you head to the DMV so nothing slows you down.
If you don't have a foreign license, Florida requires you to complete the TLSAE 4-Hour Course (Traffic Law and Substance Abuse Education, also called the Drug and Alcohol course) before applying for your learner's permit. You can take it online with us and finish the same day.
π Class E Permit Exam
Every new Florida driver has to pass the Class E Permit Exam, which covers road signs and traffic rules. PalmWay offers the Florida Permit Exam Online so you can prepare and take the test from home, on your schedule. Our prep materials are written for first-time test takers, and most students pass on the first attempt.
